In short

  • We are Kaam Ase, run by Nagaland Me in Dimapur, Nagaland.
  • We collect your name, phone number, email, district, town, trade, and photo so employers and workers can find each other.
  • Your phone number is never shown on the website. It is released one person at a time, and you can see exactly who looked it up.
  • We remove the hidden location data that phones save inside photos, so a picture taken at home does not reveal where you live.
  • We never sell your information to anybody.
  • You can see everything we hold, correct it, or delete your account entirely, at any time, yourself.

The rest of this page explains all of that in full.

1. Who we are

Kaam Ase is a hiring platform operated by Nagaland Me, Purna Bazar, Dimapur, Nagaland, India. GST: 13DIHPA5679B1ZK.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary for the information described here. That means we are responsible for how it is collected, used, and protected.

Grievance Officer
Name: Aloto Naga. Email: grievance@kaamase.com Phone: 6383359495 Address: Purna Bazar Dimapur

If you have a complaint about how we handle your information, contact this person first. They will respond within 30 days.

2. What we collect

When you register

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number
  • Your district
  • Your trade, if you register as a worker
  • A password, which is stored scrambled and cannot be read by us or anybody else

When you complete your profile

  • A photograph of you, or your logo
  • Your town or village
  • Your years of experience
  • The day rate or monthly pay you expect
  • How far you are willing to travel
  • The languages you speak
  • The name, position, and phone number of anybody who vouches for you
  • Anything you write about your work
  • For employers: what kind of employer you are, and a GST number if you have one

When you use the platform

  • Jobs you post, and the details in them
  • Ratings you give and receive
  • A record of every time somebody looks up your contact details, and every time you look up somebody else’s
  • Workers or jobs you save
  • Reports or complaints you send us
  • The date you agreed to these terms

Automatically

  • Your internet address, used only to limit how many times somebody can register or send reports in an hour, to stop automated abuse
  • The date you last signed in

What we do not collect

  • We do not ask for and do not store Aadhaar numbers, Aadhaar copies, or any government identity document.
  • We do not collect your live location, and the platform has no permission to ask your phone for it.
  • We do not collect bank details or payment information, because wages are paid directly between you and the other person.

3. Why we collect it

What Why
Name, trade, district, town, photo, experience, rates So the right people can find you. This is the whole purpose of the platform.
Phone number So an employer can call you, and so we can reach you if there is a problem. It is never displayed.
Email address To confirm your account is really yours, and to send you important notices.
Vouching details So employers can see that somebody local stands behind you. This is the strongest trust signal we have.
Ratings and job history So both sides can see who is reliable, based on work that actually happened.
Contact lookup records So you can see who has your number, and so we have a record if somebody reports harassment.
Reports and complaints To investigate, and to spot patterns — for example, several workers reporting the same employer for not paying.
Internet address Only to prevent automated abuse. It is not used to track you.

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not profile you. We do not make any automated decision that affects you.

Communications by email and WhatsApp

We may use the email address and phone number you provide to send you account-related and service-related communications. These may include account confirmation messages, reminders to complete or confirm your account, security notices, important service notices, and other communications necessary to operate and support your Kaam Ase account. Where WhatsApp is used, messages may be sent through WhatsApp or a WhatsApp Business Platform service provider acting on our behalf. These communications are not advertising or promotional messages.

4. What other people can see

Shown publicly on your profile

Your name, photo, trade, district, town, experience, expected rates, availability, languages, whether somebody has vouched for you and who, your rating once at least three people have rated you, and anything you wrote about your work.

Never shown publicly, to anybody

  • Your phone number
  • Your email address
  • Your voucher’s phone number
  • Any report or complaint you send us
  • Who you have saved

Released only in a controlled way

Your phone number is shown one person at a time, only to a signed-in account that has confirmed its email address, and only after they deliberately ask for it. Every release is recorded and shown to you on your dashboard, with the person’s name and the date. There is a daily limit on how many numbers one account can look up, so nobody can collect them in bulk.

You can block any person from seeing your number. They are not told that you have blocked them.

For work inside a home — maid, cook, babysitter, caregiver, house cleaner — only verified employers can make contact at all.

5. Payments and subscriptions

If you purchase a Rich Manu subscription or lifetime purchase through the app, payment is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device. Kaam Ase does not receive or store your full payment card, bank account, or other payment credentials used by those stores.

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchase information, subscription status, entitlements, and purchase-related events. RevenueCat may process information associated with your account and purchase, such as your app user identifier, product purchased, transaction information, subscription status, and relevant purchase dates, so that we can provide Rich Manu and keep your subscription status synchronized.

RevenueCat processes this information on our behalf as a service provider. We do not sell this information or use it for advertising.

6. Photographs

Phones save hidden information inside photographs, including the exact place where the photo was taken. If we stored that, a worker uploading a selfie taken at home would be publishing their home location to anybody who downloaded the image.

We strip this information from every photo before it is stored. The picture stays; the hidden location, camera details, and timestamp do not.

You own the photographs you upload. You give us permission to display them on Kaam Ase for as long as your account exists, and nothing more. We do not use them in advertising and we do not give them to anybody else.

7. Who we share with

Nobody, in the ordinary course. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.

The only exceptions:

  • Our hosting company, which stores the website and its database. They cannot use your information for anything of their own.
  • Our email provider, which delivers the messages we send you.
  • Our WhatsApp or messaging service provider, which may process your phone number, name, and relevant account information as necessary to deliver account-related WhatsApp messages and other service communications on our behalf. They cannot use your information for their own purposes.
  • Law enforcement or a court, if we are legally required to provide information. We will tell you if this happens, unless we are legally prohibited from doing so.
  • A buyer of the business, if Kaam Ase is ever sold or merged. You would be told before this happened, and your rights under this notice would carry over.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account is active.

If you stop using Kaam Ase, we do not delete anything suddenly:

  • Around 18 months with no sign-in: we email you asking if you are still looking for work.
  • Around 20 months: we hide your profile from searches. Nothing is deleted, and signing in brings it straight back.
  • Two years: we remove your personal details.

Signing in at any point before that stops the process and restores everything.

Work in Nagaland is seasonal, and somebody with no work through a long monsoon has not abandoned their account. That is why these periods are generous.

When your details are removed, some things are kept without your name:

  • Jobs you posted are kept but anonymised, because workers who did those jobs have ratings attached to them. Deleting the job would silently erase part of somebody else’s work record.
  • Ratings you gave are kept without your name, because a rating is partly a record about the other person, and removing it would rewrite their history without their say.

Records of who looked up contact details are deleted after one year.

9. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to:

See what we hold. Ask us and we will give you everything.

Correct anything wrong. Most of it you can edit yourself from your profile. For anything else, ask us.

Delete your account. There is a “Delete my account” option at the bottom of your profile edit page. It works immediately and cannot be undone. You do not need to ask our permission or give a reason.

Withdraw your consent. Deleting your account withdraws your consent completely. If you withdraw consent, we can no longer show your profile, which means the platform stops working for you.

Nominate somebody. You may nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become unable to act. Contact our Grievance Officer to do this.

Complain. Contact our Grievance Officer first. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

All of these are free. We will never charge you to see, correct, or delete your own information.

10. How we protect it

  • The website runs over an encrypted connection.
  • Passwords are stored scrambled and cannot be read by anybody, including us.
  • Phone numbers are never printed into any page, and the technical routes that would let somebody download them in bulk are closed.
  • Photographs have their hidden location data removed before storage.
  • Only administrators and, for worker profiles, our field agents can see accounts other than their own. Field agents cannot see employer contact details, cannot change settings, and cannot delete anything.
  • Uploads are limited to photographs, and the actual file contents are checked rather than trusting the file name.

No system is perfectly secure. If information is ever exposed, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board as required by law.

11. Children

Kaam Ase is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly allow anybody under 18 to register, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

If you believe somebody under 18 has registered, tell us immediately and we will remove the account.

12. Changes

If we change this notice, we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will email you.
